1. WHO ARE YOU? TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOURSELF ...
My name is Amanda Goldman-Petri, but all my friends and my community members call me "AGP". I am the founder of Market Like A Nerd, where we geek out about business and marketing strategies that maximize your profits while minimizing your efforts. I am extremely Anti-Hustle and adamantly promote a Work Smarter, Not Harder approach to marketing.
2. WHAT DO YOU DO? TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.
I started out as an entrepreneur at the age of 21. My first business wasn't super successful, because while I built a lot of buzz for myself, I didn't know how to turn it into cash. I therefore opened up a 2nd business, a Virtual Assistant Agency, and hired a business coach. Within 4 months, I had generated my first $10K month at the age of 22. Suddenly, I became known as the go-to VA for Coaches and Mara Glazer, of the GKIC family, approached me about being her business partner. We teamed up and within 4 months our business had made $150K, and I was 23.
2 years later, coaching was calling me, so we parted ways and I opened up my coaching business. Within 90 days I had generated $120K, and expanded my business to 19 countries, at the age of 25. I later rebranded as "Market Like A Nerd" and the business skyrocketed. By 26, I had generated over half-a-million in sales in just 4 months, expanded the business to 31 countries, and found myself being featured in countless podcasts, online magazines, and media outlets.
3. A COUPLE QUICK QUESTIONS FOR FUN ...
+ Favorite morning drink? Banana-Flavored Protein Shake
+ Introvert or Extrovert? Hermit
+ Currently obsessed with ... Working out, Painting, Playing Pool, and Dying my hair crazy colors
+ Word or theme of the year? Self Care
+ Favorite indulgence? Strawberry Cheese-quake Ice-cream from DQ
4. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO CREATE A LIVE MORE, WORK LESS BUSINESS + LIFESTYLE?
I like to say that I am a Commander in an Army that has Declared WAR on Hustle. Creating a "Live More, Work Less" business and lifestyle to me means never feeling like I'm hustling or sacrificing in my business or life. It means I am enjoying the PROCESS of generating my profits.
5. WHAT ARE SOME STEPS YOU'VE TAKEN IN YOUR BUSINESS TO INTENTIONALLY MAKE IT MORE ALIGNED WITH THE WAY YOU DESIRE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE?
To create a more aligned business, I became very picky about my business model. I do not speak on live stages at all, unless my family can come along to double it up as a vacation. I do not offer phone calls very often, and when I do, it's only with qualified prospects. Otherwise, I sell as much as I can via sales pages. I do not do super long, exhausting launches with tons of affiliates. I have "templatized" my launches and rinse-and-repeat the same 1-week launches each year.
I have also hired a huge team, including designers, developers, copywriters, video/podcast editors, transcriptionists, facebook ad managers, publicists, and more. I want to focus on marketing and coaching, my two loves, and hand off the rest!
6. WHAT'S YOUR "WHY" FOR PURSUING A LIVE MORE, WORK LESS BUSINESS?
When I was 17, I was hit by a mini-van going 50+mph while I was walking across the street and I almost died. I realized, if I had, I wouldn't have really lived or loved my life. I pursue a Live More, Work Less life because I want to die peacefully next time, with no regrets.
7. HOW DO YOU CURRENTLY STRUCTURE YOUR WORKDAY OR WEEK?
I wake up at around 9am. My morning self-care routine lasts until 10am, and then I begin working. I work until 12pm when my husband comes home to have lunch with me. We eat together until 1pm, then we both go back to work. At 4:30pm, I then go off to the gym with my friend to workout with my trainer. We typically do some extra workouts afterwards, as well as cardio, and showering. That means we aren't getting home until 7:30pm. That's when I hang out with my kids and eat dinner together. At 10:00pm when they go to bed, my husband and I usually go outside to play pool together (we have a pool table in our front lanai), or we'll go watch Netflix together until 11:00pm, when I go to bed.
8. WHAT TYPES OF HOBBIES, ACTIVITIES, AND OTHER FUN THINGS DO YOU INTENTIONALLY INCLUDE IN YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF YOUR BUSINESS?
I actually only recently discovered my hobbies THIS YEAR! I have gone YEARS just focusing on work, and this year, my theme was "Self Care" so I started exploring hobbies outside of business. I discovered I freaking LOVE working out, painting, and playing pool! So I hired a fitness trainer to workout with him 3x a week, we hired a contractor to build a front lanai to have space for a pool table, and we bought a ton of canvas', easels, and paint so that we can paint together more as a family too!
9. WHAT DO YOU FIND AS THE BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN YOUR ONGOING QUEST TO BUILD A LIVE MORE, WORK LESS BUSINESS + LIFESTYLE?
The biggest struggle to a Live More, Work Less business lifestyle is that I am extremely multi-passionate and I LOVE learning new things, trying out new businesses, and exploring new ventures and opportunities. This means I often need to reign myself in and remind myself not to take on more than I can handle!
